Univers Package Design

Univers font was created almost simultaneously with other successful alphabets: Helvetica (1957) and Optima (1958). Whereas Helvetica, for example, had a general clarity and a modern, timeless a neutral effect without any conspicuous attributes (lending to its great success), Univers expressed a factual and cool elegance, a rational competence.
Linotype

The Brief

For this project demo, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and prototyping a hypothetical package design for a font family, as if it were once again a physicality that you could purchase off a shelf. You will choose one of these classic font families to be your “product” for your design. You can only utilize that particular font in your design & should include the entire family in the details of your product contents. (example; regular, italic, semibold, semibold italic, small caps, extended, condensed, etc.).

As with any package design, think about the visual brand, shelf presence, visual coding, composition, color, target audience, and visual hierarchy of information.
